Open your book and choose a reasonable sized word. Don’t move the eyes. Stare at the word so that you can see all of its letters. Put your full concentration onto the word. Try and get its image into your mind. Concentrating and staring will make the word go blurry.
Then allow your eyes to relax. Let them move over the word. View each letter slowly. Gently blink your eyes. Now don’t force it. This time when you look, the word should be clearer.
Look at a dot, spot or some similar small thing. Relax and focus on it. Try to make it as clear as possible. Keep looking at it until it is less blurry. Within a short time, you should be able to focus on it.
Relax your eyes for a minute or two. Just close them and relax. Open them again. Then once more look at your dot. Do not stare hard this time, but rather let your eyes wander around the page. Move them over the dot and back. Close your eyes and blink gently a few times.
Try closing your eyes and picturing the dot in your mind. Then look at it again. This will relax your eyes, and should make it easier to focus on the dot.
When looking at something, people do not realize it but often only one eye is doing all the work. The other eye will not be pulling its weight. You may find if you squint, then this can help you focus. However, this will cause stress.
Choose an object for this eye exercise. What you need to do is to relax your eyes. Calmly focus on the object, and allow both eyes to focus together. This eye exercise is designed to get your eyes to work together as a team.
